Micah McCreary has been training working K9s and obedience dogs for going on 10 years now. He has been mentored by many different trainers like, Ladon Wilbourn, jimmy jones and Shelly Gutierrez.
Micah has specialized in Tracking & Trailing but also trains patrol K9s for detection and apprehension. In 2015 he started McCreary K9 Facility also known as, “MK-9F” at his house in Section, AL. 6 years later he opened up a new facility in Scottsboro, AL were he has trained over 150 dogs within the past year.
Micah has had the privilege to train the K9s for Dekalb and Jackson county Sheriff’s Office and Powell PD and many Search & Rescue Organizations. Micah is now a K9 handler for Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office and handles all of the training for all 8 K9’s that’s apart of the department.
In 2020 he teamed up with Duane “Dog” Chapman and has trained a tracking K9 for his team. Micah is apart of a few different TV shows that will be coming out on Tru-X TV. “Becoming One”, “Tru-X Outdoors”, and “SARX Unit”. Each show has something to do with working dogs. Not only is he an evaluator for NOCSAR but for AKC CGC and plans to continue to grow in the dog training industry.
